Mr. Alex Mitrakas’ practice focuses on corporate matters at both the domestic and international level including: Corporate Structuring, Business Litigation, and International Arbitration.
Mr. Mitrakas has experience litigating complex civil matters in US Courts, representing European corporations in arbitrations, establishing US distribution chains for foreign importers and manufactures, putting together complex transactional matters, and resolving disputes through nontraditional legal means.
A native of Alexandria, Virginia, Mr. Mitrakas earned his BS in Law and Society from The American University in Washington, DC, studied at the Comparative Justice institute in London, earned his JD from the University of Detroit Mercy in Michigan, and is an active member of the Virginia State Bar.

- Obtained a $750,000 jury verdict against an international franchiser for breach of a franchise agreement.
- Obtained a personal judgment against a corporate director, in federal court, for civil fraud related to a Chapter 15 filing, in the amount of $750,000, with predated judgment interest, plus attorney’s fees.
- Obtained dismissal of the individual defendant, after the jury was impaneled, upon a motion to strike, in an investor fraud lawsuit.
- Successfully obtained dismissal of claims in favor of his client, a commercial restaurant tenant, brought by a national REIT, seeking recovery for over 24 months of rent during the COIVD pandemic, as a result of Landlord’s non complacence with local statutes.
