Miriam Epstein

Miriam represents clients in litigation over trust and estate-related matters, guardianship litigation, and business litigation. She works with clients to help plan their own estates and with executors, administrators, and beneficiaries to negotiate the probate process. She additionally has experience with both contested and uncontested guardianships and conservatorships and is currently qualified as a guardian ad litem with the 17th and 19th Judicial Districts of Virginia. 

Miriam is licensed to practice law before all state courts in Virginia, all courts in the District of Columbia, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She has experience in all aspects of civil litigation through settlement, trial, and appeal, and has argued at both the state and federal level.

From 2018 through 2022, Miriam ran a solo practice focused on trust and estate litigation, administration, and planning, guardianship litigation, and business litigation. Prior to that,  Miriam was actively involved in all stages of trust and estate litigation and business litigation at a boutique law firm located in Fairfax, Virginia.  Upon graduation from law school, she clerked for the Honorable Lorraine Nordlund at the Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virginia. 

Miriam received her law degree from William and Mary Law School, where she was an articles editor for the William & Mary Law Review and President of the Jewish Law Student Association. While at William and Mary, she was selected as a graduate research fellow for the Center for Legal and Court Technology, where she studied the use of technology in the courtroom and legal issues around social media in state courts, and coordinated a laboratory trial to assess jury understanding of allegedly fabricated computer evidence, conducted with assistance from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section.

 Before law school, Miriam worked as a theatrical sound designer based in Atlanta, Georgia. She designed over 125 professional shows and received two awards and nine nominations for sound design.
